With an ever increasing desire to invite the community to enjoy all forms of art (music, theater, visual arts and so much more), the Rutherford Arts Committee is excited to present the Rutherford Arts Amble this upcoming Sunday, June 11th in Lincoln Park.
The Arts Amble will start at noon, kicking off with dance and improv performances, and then showcasing Rutherford Rock musicians. Alex Britez, one of the organizers of this event, explained, "This event is meant to showcase the various artistic talents of kids in our community. We will be displaying artwork from all of the schools in town. Throughout the afternoon, children from various Rutherford Recreation programs including Improv, Dance, and Rutherford Rock bands will perform."
A Disney character will be there to sing Disney classics to kids. In addition to Rutherford Rock, there will be two other bands that will be playing: Secret Rat Wagon, one of the winners of this year's RHS Popcert, and Ghost Notes, a talented band comprised of 9-11 year old's that had the opportunity to perform at NYC's Bitter End last month. "Both of these bands are composed mostly of members that have played together in the Rutherford Rock program and have decided to create their own bands outside of the program. We hope to see many other bands and other collaborations pop up from the program for years to come," explained Alex Britez.
The Rutherford Arts Committee wishes to thank Eddie Narucki, all of the volunteers, Rutherfun's Improv group, Rutherford Recreation's Youth Dance & Theater Program, Rutherford Rock, and our Rutherford Public School Art Teachers."
