Students from the Union School National Junior Honor Society celebrated Read Across America by visiting Salome Urena Elementary School in Newark on Monday, March 2nd. NJHS students each dedicated and donated a Dr. Seuss book to various classrooms ranging from Pre-K to 4th grade. They spent the day reading to students and participating in a variety of Read Across America activities organized by classroom teachers that included making "Green Eggs and Ham" and helping with "One Fish, Two Fish..." math activities. Mrs. Herninko and reading coach, Jill Budinich, from Salome Urena Elementary honored Union School students with certificates for their service and a pizza party. It was a wonderful day for all involved!
