On Saturday, April 24th, Rutherford community members assisted with the Borough Town wide Clean-Up. In an effort to beautify the town, the Rutherford Green Team and the Rutherford Recreation Volunteer team worked together to organize volunteers on both the east and west ends of town. A number of community groups, such as the Rutherford Pride Alliance, Scouts BSA 166G, and Pack 168, families, and individuals cleaned up areas around the business districts and other public spaces.
On the same day, in the afternoon, the Rutherford Health Department hosted its Annual Rabies Vaccination Clinic with the assistance of Rutherford Engine Co. 2 and the Rutherford Police Department. The Clinic was held at the Rutherford Engine Co. 2’s Fire Station on Mortimer Ave. Representatives from TYCO and Veterinarian Dr. Neal Beeber, Medical Director of Rutherford Animal Hospital, administered vaccinations to seventy dogs and fourteen cats.
