Rutherford’s Allstate Dan Meredith Agency was able to secure another $5000 for the Relay for Life of Rutherford in addition to the $10,500 grant we gave earlier in the year. The Relay For Life Watch Party will happen again on Sunday in honor of National Cancer Survivor Day. For this year’s relay, the Allstate team’s goal was to raise $12,000 on our team page. Currently, they have raised $11,400 not counting the latest $5000. Once that amount is added our team will have received over $16,000. Rutherford’s Allstate Agency’s team is very happy to be able to continue to help its local charities that need their help.
Across the state of New Jersey, thirty-seven Allstate agency owners, financial specialists, and staff, including Rutherford’s Allstate Agent Kristin Meredith, joined together in the fight against hunger during this public health crisis. The agency owners secured a $20,000 Allstate Foundation Helping Hands® Grant to benefit the Community FoodBank of New Jersey, a local partner organization of Feeding America. The Community FoodBank of New Jersey serves 16 of New Jersey's 21 counties through its network of over 1,000 partner food pantries, soup kitchens, child and senior feeding programs, and more. Participating Allstate agencies were rewarded for their use of social media to raise awareness for the Community FoodBank of New Jersey’s work to help those in their communities facing food insecurity due to the pandemic. To attempt to increase the amount provided to the Community Food Bank, each agent asked customers to consider donating via a direct fundraising page. The total amount raised using direct fundraising pages was $2,118 in addition to the Helping Hands® grant, providing resources to supply over 6,300 nutritious meals.
