On Friday, November 22, 2024, there will be an Anxious Generation-Panel Presentation in Lincoln School's Library for parents and guardians of Pre-Kindergarten through third-grade students. The panel of presenters will discuss various topics addressed in the book The Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt, which focuses on play-based childhood and its impact on students and their academic and social development.
The first Parent Academy on The Anxious Generation, held on November 15th, was geared toward families with children in grades 4-12. This discussion focused on the under-supervision of children using cell phones and how social media impacts student development and learning. An upcoming Parent Academy, sponsored by the Pierrepont School PTA, will focus on the Digital Generation and how parents and guardians can help their children deal with the challenges of living in a digital world. The event is open to all parents and guardians in the community and will take place on Monday, November 25th at 7 pm in the Pierrepont School Gym.
