Rutherford's Annual Memorial Day Parade took place on Monday, May 29th at 9 am. Participants started the parade at Sunset Park and continued traveling Union Ave to Park Avenue. The parade ended on Park Ave in front of Borough Hall where solemn remembrance ceremonies took place.
Many different town groups and organizations participated in the parade this year, including the Veterans Alliance, American Legion, Mayor and Council, Rutherford Fire Departments, the Rutherford High School Marching Band, and Rutherford First-Aid Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
Other groups included the Scouts who held signs that displayed the names of Rutherford's fallen soldiers, Boiling Springs Lodge Free and Accepted Masons, the Lions Club, the Elks Club, Rutherford Congregational Church, Historical Preservation Society, and a line of classic cars driven by Rutherford residents.
