One of Rutherford's longest standing volunteer community-service organizations, the Rutherford Lions Club has been active for over one hundred years. Each year the Club does vision screenings, serves lunches to Seniors at the Kip Center, provides scholarships to Seniors graduating from Rutherford High School, supports the Rutherford Food Pantry and Social Services, and so much more. This year was no exception.
In December, the Rutherford Lions Club gave fresh oranges and grapefruits that they obtained through their recent fruit sales to the members of 55 Kip Center for Christmas.
They also gave Christmas gifts and gift cards to a Rutherford family in need through the Borough's Social Services Department.
Finally, the Lions Club spread holiday kindness by sponsoring a holiday decoration contest in town. They gave gift cards to the best decorated houses.
