Rutherford residents are fortunate to have an active Health Department which provides ongoing services, as well as special health events.
On March 16th, from 10 am until 12 pm, there will be a Rabies Clinic for cats and dogs at the Mortimer Ave Firehouse, 400 Mortimer Ave. Previously vaccinated dogs and cats, with proof of vaccination, will receive a 3-year dose. Dogs and cats that were vaccinated at the age of three to eleven months will require revaccination after one year.
Rutherford resident and Doctor of Physical Therapy, John Talty, will be hosting a FREE Balance Workshop on Tuesday, January 30th at 1:30 pm. The Workshop will take place at his practice location, 71 Union Ave, Suite 110 in Rutherford. See the flyer below for more details.
The Lions Club collects used eyeglasses at the Rutherford Post Office and 55 Kip Center so that they can be recycled and reused in developing nations. Additionally, the Club conducts vision screenings, using a Spot Vision Screener, to screen the vision of children two years and older. It is a quick, non-invasive procedure. If anyone wishes to schedule a screening at a Borough preschool, they can contact the Lions Club President, Laura O'Connor, at laurann37@aol.com.
The email for the Lions Club contact is incorrect.
