On Wednesday, October 30th, the fourth annual Halloween Spooktacular was held at Memorial Park. Despite the rain, there were many families getting into the Halloween spirit at Rutherford Recreation's Spooktacular. There were activities for children of all ages. There was a bouncy house, trackless train, a special photo area, character photo opportunities, and a large trampoline. RHS Project Graduation Committee members served snacks at the Snack Shack at Tryon Field. There was also a vintage fire truck where children could visit and receive treats.

There were two hayrides through the back part of the field along the river. The first hayride was family- friendly and was not meant to frighten anyone. The second hayride began at dusk and did include some very scary zombies and other frightening characters. A number of creepy characters made sure to put the “spook” into “Spooktacular”.

The Rutherford Recreation Department would like to thank Magical Moments, Shop-Rite Inserra Markets, Nick’s Towing, Cliffhanger Productions, Mayor DeSalvo and Council, student volunteers, and the Rutherford Volunteer Committee.
